Overview & Scope
The Vnumbers extension is published by ProxyHunks (Hunks SMS) and is available on the Chrome Web Store. Its purpose is to give users quick access to the Hunks SMS virtual phone number service directly from their browser — allowing them to browse available numbers, initiate purchases, and receive SMS verification codes without leaving the current tab.
This Privacy Policy describes our practices for the extension only. Our main website privacy policy is available at vnumbers.proxyhunks.xyz.
Data We Collect
The Vnumbers extension collects the minimum data necessary to provide its functionality. The table below describes each category of data, its purpose, and how long it is retained.
How We Use Your Data
Data collected by the extension is used exclusively for the following purposes:
Service delivery — authenticating your account, displaying your wallet balance, processing number purchases, and relaying incoming SMS codes to your extension popup.
Fraud prevention — detecting and blocking abuse of the service, including repeated failed purchases and bot-like behaviour.
Technical support — diagnosing errors and responding to support requests you initiate via WhatsApp, Telegram, or email.
Service improvement — aggregated, anonymous usage patterns (e.g., which countries or services are most requested) to improve the product. This data cannot be traced back to individual users.
We do not use your data for advertising, behavioural profiling, or any purpose unrelated to delivering the virtual number service.
Data Sharing & Third Parties
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. Data is shared only in the following limited circumstances:
Upstream SMS providers — to fulfil a number purchase, the selected service name and country code are passed to our virtual number supplier API. No personally identifiable information about you (name, email, phone) is shared with them.
M-Pesa / Safaricom — payment processing for wallet top-ups is handled entirely by Safaricom's STK Push infrastructure. We do not receive, store, or transmit your M-Pesa PIN. Note: M-Pesa payments are initiated through the Hunks SMS website or WhatsApp bot, not directly through the Chrome extension.
Legal obligations — we may disclose data if required to do so by applicable law or a valid legal order. We will notify you to the extent permitted by law.
No data is shared with advertising networks, data brokers, analytics platforms, or social media companies.
Chrome Permissions Explained
The extension requests only the permissions it needs. Below is a plain-language explanation of each permission declared in the extension manifest.
The extension does not request tabs, webNavigation, history, bookmarks, cookies, clipboardRead, or any other permission that would allow access to your browsing activity.
Data Storage & Security
Local storage — session tokens and preferences are stored using the Chrome Extension Storage API (chrome.storage.local). This data stays on your device and is not accessible to other extensions or websites.
Server-side storage — account and transaction data is stored on our backend servers. We implement the following security measures:
Encryption at rest: Sensitive account data is encrypted in our database.
Access controls: Server access is restricted to authorised personnel only, using role-based access controls and audit logging.
Log retention: Server-side request logs are automatically purged after 30 days.
SMS message content (your verification codes) is relayed to you in real time and is not stored on our servers beyond the 20-minute active window. After that window closes, the message content is permanently and automatically deleted.
Your Rights & Choices
You have the following rights regarding your data:
Access — you may request a copy of the data we hold about your account at any time by contacting us.
Deletion — you may request full deletion of your account and associated data. Deletion requests are processed within 14 days. Note that transaction records required for legal/financial compliance may be retained in anonymised form.
Correction — if any account information is inaccurate, you may request a correction.
Opt-out of non-essential communications — you may opt out of any service update emails by contacting us.
Uninstall — uninstalling the extension immediately clears all locally stored data (session token, preferences) from your device. Server-side data is retained per the retention schedule above unless you submit a deletion request.

Cookies & Tracking
The Vnumbers Chrome extension does not use cookies, web beacons, pixel tags, fingerprinting scripts, or any third-party tracking technology.
The extension does not embed Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, Mixpanel, Segment, or any equivalent analytics or advertising SDK.
The extension does not track your activity on websites you visit. It operates entirely within its own popup and communicates only with the Hunks SMS API.
Children's Privacy
The Vnumbers extension and the Hunks SMS service are intended for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under the age of 18.
If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at edwardgikara85@gmail.com and we will promptly delete it.
